SALT CREEK APPAREL
One graphic system. Fifty states. Hundreds
of SKUs. The Salt Creek Apparel 2019
Collection required a single design language
flexible enough to serve an entire country,
covering ladies, men, kids, and performance
lines, while feeling specific to every
location it represented.

The challenge wasn't just design, it was scale.
Each state variation required unique location
names, regional icons, and approved design
elements swapped in without losing consistency
or introducing errors.
To solve it, a custom Photoshop batch automation
was built around spreadsheet-driven data: approved
copy and icons loaded automatically, applied across
every variation, with manual adjustments only where
spacing and kerning required a human eye. What could
have been hundreds of hours of repetitive production
became a repeatable pipeline. It was automated design
workflow before that was a common phrase.

WITHOUT BREAKING.
The result was a collection that shipped across the
United States and Canada, consistent in craft, specific
in detail, and produced at a scale that manual methods
couldn't have matched. The same principle that drove
this pipeline in 2019 drives the work at JMRENDER
today: build the system once, then let it work.

The intersection of generative AI and design
craft opens new territory. This project explored
what happens when a trained eye guides an AI
pipeline — building imagery that feels deliberate,
not generated.

Treating AI tools the way a craftsman treats new
equipment — powerful only when paired with
judgment — was the guiding principle throughout.
Every output went through multiple rounds of
review. Nothing ships until the standard is met —
the same standard applied to every project.

every touchpoint it will ever occupy.
